Research areas of focus

To date, many patients have benefited from image-guided treatments through prolonged survival and improvements in quality of life. Advances in nanomedicine have enabled the development of multifunctional imaging agents that can further increase the performance of image-guided cancer therapy.

Our research is focused on the development of agents and tools that can further increase the performance of imaging in the therapy-guidance context.

Specifically, we are active in the areas of image-guided surgery, personalized nanomedicine delivery, tracking of cell therapies and high-precision radiotherapy delivery.

Our research group

We have a dedicated, hard working group of individuals who constantly strive to create exciting new innovations with potential to impact patient care. It is because of these individuals that we are able to have such a fun and productive working environment.

Our research facilites

IGTB is fortunate to be located within the Toronto research and biotech hub at the MaRS building. We have access to world class research facilities and closely interact with the local startup ecosystem.
